The Valley is changing and we have snow high up. Tignes is due to open shortly with skiing on the Glacier and Val D'Isere opens at the end of the month.

Ste Foy have put in new snowcannons too this year on the Marquis run. We saw the new snow cannons that have gone in on the Blue run down to Villaroger this week and they positioned perfectly to keep the run open all season.

Les Arcs opens on the 10th and we are looking forward to our first ski with noone on the pistes. Its always a great time to ski , as the snow keeps well due to not a lot of traffic.

The chalet is all ready for our opening week , we are still getting wood in for our house too.

The Valley is getting busier, noteably in the Supermarkets with staff for chalet companies starting to arrive.

We have moved our caravan down the Valley ready for the first snow arriving. We will have to de- neige it throughout the season when it gets too much snow on the roof.

Bookings going well , we have now discounted Dec and Jan dates so please give us a call.

Here are a couple of photos taken recently showing the snow high up !

Its cooling down here in the Alps and although we haven't had a frost yet it has been snowing high up. Jonny went for a walk up to Le Crot at the weekend and there was actually around 30cm at a  1900m. The glacier in Tignes will be glad of this as its due to open shortly.

We have been collecting our trees from the village and getting them cut up ready for this Winter. Our neighbours have mentioned its going to be a cold one, which hopefully means lots of snow due to the thick skins on the onions in the garden!!! We are also busy doing last minute jobs ready for next season.

Villaroger is currently installing new snow cannons on the blue piste down to the Village which will ensure its kept open all season, and we will hopefully not need to download. Michel at La ferme has been doing some outside renovations to the bar and its looking good.

Les Arcs is due to open 10th Dec , once again Millionaires skiing, with noone on the pistes. Val D'Isere and Tignes will be open at the beginning of Dec, so anyone wanting a pre xmas break , please get intouch. We are offering dates 11th - 16th Dec 2011 for only £65 pp per night fully catered inc all drinks. Flights are really cheap then too.

I will be skiing on Scott Rosa's again this season , and Jonny is fitting some touring bindings to them so will try hard to use them lol !!! He has got Scott Missions.

The girls are settling into school although Anneha is still finding College in Bourg St Maurice (secondary school ) a bit of a challenge. Having come from a school with only 9 children to one with 1400 , its a big change. She has to eat at a canteen every lunch and has 1.5 hrs break which she is not enjoying. We cannot believe how often teachers are off too, with no replacements which means more free periods for her. Hopefully she will soon get into the routine and we will look back and laugh on these first few weeks.

Fifi is very happy at Ste Foy school, having now got lots of friends and has been invited to 2 birthday parties already , something that rarely happened at Villaroger as there were no girls her age.

Hope we get to see you this coming Winter, lots of availability so please get in touch via email or phone. Bye for now !!

My sister and her family  came to visit last week and we had a lovely week all together. The weather was good and we went to the outdoor pool in Bourg St Maurice, and did the walk from Les Arcs 1600 to Les Arcs 1800 to the pool there. We picnicked at Le Crot and the kids went in the rock pools. We went to Italy for pizza and came across a chocolate festival in La Thuile.  We spent the afternoon in Tignes and took her children up the gondola as they had never been in one  before. There were lots of things to keep the children entertained up there , bouncy castles, trampolines, air bag to jump onto, park and a swimming pool with slides.

On Friday we met up with Hector, Ruth and Jamie, Angus and Marie Florence who have been to stop with  us a few times in the Winter , at the Medieval City of Conflans near Albertville. We have never been before but kept meaning to pay a visit so decided it would be a good day to go. Its very picturesque and well worth a visit. It was great to see everyone and the girls had a good time with Jamie.

Th girls are back to school tomorrow after the long summer holidays, but we have had a fabulous summer and its passed too quickly. Anneha starts College (secondary School ) and Fi moves to Ste Foy school as Villaroger school has closed.

Jonny drove up through Villaroger yesterday , up the pistes, and he thinks they may well be putting more snow cannons in on the the blue run down to the Village which is great news as they kept it open so well last season so we could all ski down to the Bar , an extra 1 or 2 would mean we would have even more top up snow readily available.

Ive enclosed a few pics from the last week.
