We have had beautiful weather for the past few weeks, and we have been making the most of it.

My mum and GT came out for the week and we fitted lots in, went to the outdoor pool in Bourg St Maurice, went to Italy, Annecy and attended our neighbour's birthday party.

Emma and Aarj came to stay too for a few days and Emma, Fifi and I went riding in Sainte Foy. We rode on the pistes we normally ski which was beautiful.

Jonny is still training hard for the Piste2plage Challenge for Charity. He is cycling the Col D'Iseran today followed by the Col de Telegraph, infact the first day of the challenge. Its already 22 degrees here in Villaroger so not sure how he will go on in the heat. He's watching what he eats and trying to cut down on the red wine and he's lost some weight.  He's cycled most of the Cols in the area now on a regular basis and is really looking forward to the Challenge.

Im enjoying getting out on the bike too and did my first Col this weekend, even though it was only a small one, Col de Tamie.

We went to watch a stage of the Tour de France this week. We managed to see the start at Albertville and then follow them and see them on 2 other points. They really are machines those guys , the speed they go at is unbelievable , especially uphill. The caravan procession before the race was the highlight for the girls where they collected all the goodies the floats threw out. We got very cose to Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish who were obviously looking very focused.

Had some  lovely vistors in the Chalet , Kim and family and Helen and Martin who motorcycled all the big Cols. The weather was kind to them all and the  new hottub was used lots.

Gt , Jonny , Emma and Aarj walked from Le Crot , 10 mins from the Chalet over to Italy. Mum, the girls and I picked them up and we went for lunch. Here are a few of the pics they took during the walk. It was stunning apparantly.

Have a look on our new website www.walkthealps.com for more details of walking in the French Alps and the Haute Tarentaise. Lots of availability if you fancy a trip out before the Winter. We can arrange a guide too.

Also if anyone fancies cycling the Cols in the Haute Tarentaise  we can do a taylored package for you, including catering, vehicle back up etc.

We found a new water park close to Geneva on the way back to the Airport. Well worth a visit for the day. Its called Vitam Park, and has indoor and outdoor pools, slides, kids areas etc.

For those thinking of their next skiing holiday, bookings are coming in so please get intouch to get the dates you want.

We have had lots of visitors during the last month, Fletch and Daz came out to cycle the Cols here in the Haute Tarenataise. They cycled 6 Cols in 5 days, actually doing 2 one day. The weather was generally good and the boys loved it.

Cycling in the Haute Tarentaise is getting much more popular and there seems to be lots more  people out here attacking the likes of Col D'Iseran, Col de Madeleine , Cormet de Roselend and the Petit Col de Saint Bernard, or is it just we are noticing more as Jonny is getting into it re his Challenge? Haha.

His training is now including cycling the Col and then going down the other side and cycling back up, which is gruelling. He's happy with where he is at and is putting in lots of effort. His new Marmite Top really suits him see below !!!!!!

If you would like to sponsor him for Help the Heros here is the link. Thankyou in advance.

The Tour de France passes around 35 minutes from the Chalet and  features Col de Madeleine this month and we will be going to watch and cheer on Bradley Wiggins!!!

We went horse riding in Sainte Foy the other day. There is a new stables that has opened up and Fi, Emma and I went on a ride. the scenery waas beautiful and riding up and down the pistes was really bizarre having normally skied them. Im hoping to go again with some friends for a ride to the Le Monal Village.

The new Hottub has arrived and we are really pleased with it. Its up and working and our guests love it.

Our new Summer website is now live , hope you like it. Click HERE to have a look. We are hoping people will come and stay self catered during the Summer months of May to November to Walk, Cycle or Mountain Bike. We can also taylor a holiday to suit you offering  vehicle back up,  airport pickups and catering  for groups. Please give us a call / mail to discuss.

Our Jubilee party went really well, and all our neighbours and French friends came...Yeah !!!! They brought champagne to toast the queen and they loved the Pimms which they had never tasted before. We had music set up by Andy and lots of people were up dancing. Someone said its the Folie Douce of Le Loissel ! We picked a great day as it was 28 degrees and the day after it rained.

Jonny's training for the www.piste2plage.co.uk is in full swing and he's now starting to tackle the Cols. He is still loving his bike and has cycled the Cormet de Roselend, Col de Tammie, Col de Petit St Bernard  and Col de Fourclaz in the last couple of weeks. All the guys in this area have been getting together to train together so there is a great sense of comaraderie in the Valley. Here is a view from the top of the Col de Forclaz.

The Dauphine Tour passes through Annecy this weekend (main Tour before Tour de France) so we are caravanning again and hoping to see it pass through.

All this bike talk has got me going and ive just bought a second hand bike off Ebay. Jonny has fitted some Clip in pedals and im off. Really enjoying it , especially going around the Lac de Annecy (35Kms) , just right for me!!

We have ordered a new Hot Tub as unfortunately the pump broke last year and it was going to quite pricey to replace. So we've decided to replace it and hopefully that will be with us next week.

The flowers are all out in the meadows and Jonny is busy learing them for his reassesment for his Summer IML in August. Lots of walking to be done at the minute, the mountains look gorgeous with all the snow on them.

Lifts are due to open beginning of July for Mountain biking/ Walking Holidays  and the open air pool in Bourg St Maurice will be open the last week in June.

We have had work done in the Village to improve the drainage so thats good news for us all.

The girls are fine, enjoing school. Fi has started her riding lessons again and Anneha is still doing karate. She has a Demonstration show next weekend. Also her German penfriend Vera is arriving next Monday to spend the week with us. They have lots of activities through school organised, one of which is staying overnight in a mountain Refuge. Jonny is going along too to help on the trip. They are enjoying our caravan and love the lake especially as Fi has learnt to dive now.

Our Summer chalet still has some  availability so please get in touch if you fancy coming out.

Winter bookings have started, all prices held as of last year until 1st August 2012.
