This chalet in Les Arcs can only be described as an amazing find. Having stayed in the Centre of many resorts we decided to book with Skivillaroger as we could ski other areas. What a plus this was. We skied all 7 resorts suggested by Jonny and Kumari and loved the fact that in a morning we would say "where should we ski today"? We are hooked!!
Brilliant food, spotless cosy chalet and hosts who cannot do enough for you contributed to the fact that Jonny and Kumari have got it right!
Thankyou for broadening our skiing experiences and we will be back!

On the advice of a friend who has stayed many times, we gave Chalet Le Loissel at Skivillaroger.com a go, to ski Sainte Foy, Villaroger/Les Arcs, Val d'Isere/Tignes and La Rosiere/La Thuile all in one week.
Being seasoned resort skiers, the thought of accessing so many resorts in one week really appealed and we weren't disappointed. You get up, see what the weather is doing where and simply drive to the resort you fancy and purchase a day pass - all are within a c. 30 minute drive.
The week we stayed we had bucket loads of snow each day, often poor visibility and on two days, gale force winds, but being able to choose tree skiing for definition and shelter on such days really helped. Had we been staying up at Tignes or Val d'Isere on a weekly Paradiski area pass we would not have had this flexibility and probably would not have skied as much as we did. The weather really was filthy at times, but we skied 6 full days and loved it.
The chalet is a beautifully renovated farm house and barn which is both charming and comfortable. The log burner is lit morning and night and gives a warm welcome. A steaming hot tub out on the deck gives a luxurious soak to aching limbs at the end of a hard day on the white stuff.
All rooms have en suite bathrooms and are clean and pleasantly furnished, far better than some of the tiny (and manky!) French ski rooms we have endured in the past.
Food is freshly cooked to a high standard and very tasty:
Breakfast = tea, fresh coffee, cereals, porridge, juice, fruit, bread, yoghurt and a hot option such as eggs, bacon, sausages, etc.
Afternoon tea = bread and jam, lovely homemade cakes, tea/coffee.
Pre-dinner = G&Ts, beer, Kir Royal + nibbles.
Dinner = starter, main course, dessert, coffee/tea + homemade truffles. Bottled wine throughout the meal (and after should you wish to continue). No whipping away the wine as soon as the knife and fork are put down/plates are cleared and no nasty Vin de Gut Rot from an oversized naff wine box.
Our favourite dishes were the Asian belly pork with wild rice, ginger beef and lamb shanks - all to die for!
The owners, Jonny and Kumari, really make this place. They are friendly, hands-on and helpful. They scan the daily weather forecasts for each resort by iPad to see where is best to go that day and will even ski with you to show you the local area. Both are avid powder hounds and encourage you to get the most out of your skiing or boarding. They have a genuine love of the mountains and local area and clearly want all of their guests to have a great time.
Chalet Le Loissel is their home (they live next door in the other half of the building) as well as their business. They run a tight ship but in a very pleasant way. They are extremely hard working, great cooks, and even deliver drinks to you in the hot tub!
We were a couple amongst three other parties of three people. We immediately felt included; Jonny and Kumari got everyone chatting to each other and we enjoyed the company of our fellow guests, both on and off the piste.
The crunch question is would we return? Why yes....in precisely 3 weeks time, that's how much we loved it!

Stayed with a mate in late December (not the first time at SkiVillaRoger and definitely not the last!) We had a great time as usual. Fantastic atmosphere, excellent food and above all the best of hosts. Also a big thankyou to Jonny and Kumari for arranging some superb snow for our break (yes that's just how hard they try to make your ski break the best :-)
Looking forward to getting back over as soon as possible again. Paul (and Paul)

Been trying to book a stay with Kumari & Jonny for a long while now but finally got a booking for 4 nights this December 2012 with 2 of my mates. No wonder I could never get booked.... The hosts are just brilliant, the food is excellent and the chalet is fantastic! Villaroger... not many ski resorts left like this...I aim to book again with my whole family coming.
Many thanks for having us,
Regards and best wishes for 2013
