Our Jubilee party went really well, and all our neighbours and French friends came...Yeah !!!! They brought champagne to toast the queen and they loved the Pimms which they had never tasted before. We had music set up by Andy and lots of people were up dancing. Someone said its the Folie Douce of Le Loissel ! We picked a great day as it was 28 degrees and the day after it rained.

Jonny's training for the www.piste2plage.co.uk is in full swing and he's now starting to tackle the Cols. He is still loving his bike and has cycled the Cormet de Roselend, Col de Tammie, Col de Petit St Bernard  and Col de Fourclaz in the last couple of weeks. All the guys in this area have been getting together to train together so there is a great sense of comaraderie in the Valley. Here is a view from the top of the Col de Forclaz.

The Dauphine Tour passes through Annecy this weekend (main Tour before Tour de France) so we are caravanning again and hoping to see it pass through.

All this bike talk has got me going and ive just bought a second hand bike off Ebay. Jonny has fitted some Clip in pedals and im off. Really enjoying it , especially going around the Lac de Annecy (35Kms) , just right for me!!

We have ordered a new Hot Tub as unfortunately the pump broke last year and it was going to quite pricey to replace. So we've decided to replace it and hopefully that will be with us next week.

The flowers are all out in the meadows and Jonny is busy learing them for his reassesment for his Summer IML in August. Lots of walking to be done at the minute, the mountains look gorgeous with all the snow on them.

Lifts are due to open beginning of July for Mountain biking/ Walking Holidays  and the open air pool in Bourg St Maurice will be open the last week in June.

We have had work done in the Village to improve the drainage so thats good news for us all.

The girls are fine, enjoing school. Fi has started her riding lessons again and Anneha is still doing karate. She has a Demonstration show next weekend. Also her German penfriend Vera is arriving next Monday to spend the week with us. They have lots of activities through school organised, one of which is staying overnight in a mountain Refuge. Jonny is going along too to help on the trip. They are enjoying our caravan and love the lake especially as Fi has learnt to dive now.

Our Summer chalet still has some  availability so please get in touch if you fancy coming out.

Winter bookings have started, all prices held as of last year until 1st August 2012.

We have had our first trip away in the Caravan as the weather has been so warm here in Les Arcs.

We went down to Annecy and the girls' friends came too, all girls!! They had a great time, the lake was a bit chilly to swim but they all had a paddle up to their knees.

We cycled too, I went to Annecy town  and Jonny cycled to Albertville.

Here at our Summer Chalet in Les Arcs we are trying to offer cycling holidays  as we are so perfect to bike the Cols such as Col D'Iseran, Col de Petit Sainte Bernard, Col du Madeleine etc.  They are all ones that have featured in the Tour de France. Talking of which it passes close by to the chalet (Albertville) around 12th July 2012 if anyone fancies a trip out here to watch it. http://www.skivillaroger.com/index.php/summer-activites

The girls have been doing lots of baking. One thing you must try if you have a sweet tooth is Donna Hay's Caramel slice , its to die for!! http://www.food.com/recipe/donna-hays-chocolate-caramel-slice-423550

We are going to have a Diamond Jubillee Party at ours in June, we will invite our French neighbours too to sample some Pims and typical English food. Wether or not they will wave a flag or not remains to be seen ......!

Snow , snow and more snow, as those who follow us on TWITTER will know. What an end to the Season, although Les Arcs is still open until 29th April 2012. Tignes and Val until the first week in May.

The past week has seen over a metre of snow fall in just over 2 days. We have been skiing knee deep powder up until the 25th April, unbelievable!

Click  http://vimeo.com/40853024  to see  footage of the powder on the  last day of the Season in Sainte Foy ( 22nd April 2012)

The weather is now warming up, infact its been 25 degress today which meand all that snow thats fallen will start to get heavy and fall off the mountain. This does not bode well for ski touring at the end of the season as it will be too dangerous.

Jonny is now in training for the www.piste2plage.com challenge in aid of Help for Heros. Its a 440km cycle from here Sainte Foy to Juan Les Pins in the South of France. They will have to cycle over 27,500 vertical feet, climbing and descending 7 of the infamous Cols often seen on the Tour de France. Its a massive feat and Jonny is hoping to raise in excess of £1000 for Help the Heros.

If anyone would like to make a donation to this worthy Charity you can find my fundraising page on www.bmycharity.com/JonnyKaye. Its quick and easy to make a donation. Thankyou in advance.

The girls have just had a week off school and May is a funny month with lots of Bank Holidays here in France. We have all got our bikes out and trying to support Jonny as much as we can.

The caravan will be heading out too soon , as the nice weather will soon be here to stay.

Don't forget you could take your Summer holiday here with us in the Chalet , still got availability. For you walkers, cyclists out there now is a great time to pay us a visit, we could even do some catering for you if you prefer not to cook. Please get in touch to discuss.

Finally we would like to thanks everyone who came to stay last Season and helped make another successful, enjoyable Winter , with lots of laughs and new friends made. THANKYOU!!!!!
